Se llev a cabo una emotiva ceremonia conmemorativa en honor al Da de la Aviacin Militar y de la Fuerza Area del Per, en la Embajada de Per en Canada. Este evento no solo celebr la historia de la aviacin militar peruana, sino que tambin rindi homenaje a uno de sus hroes ms emblemticos: el capitn Jos Abelardo Quiones Gonzles.
A travs del discurso del Coronel Jorge F. Huaman, se exploraron temas profundos como el amor a la patria, el deber y el herosmo.

El discurso continu resaltando que el Capitn Quiones escribi con su sacrificio una de las pginas ms emotivas de la historia peruana. El Coronel describi a Quiones como un hombre que, a pesar de su juventud, soaba con un Per grande y fuerte, construido sobre el legado a la nacin y el cumplimiento del deber.
El Coronel Huamn hizo un llamado a todos los presentes para que saquen a relucir el espritu de Quiones que llevan dentro. Invit a los peruanos a volar alto y a ser valientes en sus propias vidas, recordando siempre el sacrificio de aquellos que han defendido la soberana nacional.
Resalt que, para la Fuerza Area del Per y todas las fuerzas areas del mundo, no hay misiones imposibles, ya que se basan en valores fundamentales como: Lealtad, Honor Militar, Seguridad Operacional.
El Coronel tambin mencion la importancia de la seguridad operacional en las misiones areas, destacando el profesionalismo de los grupos de unidades areas que trabajan para garantizar la seguridad de quienes abordan aeronaves y de aquellos que reciben apoyo areo en zonas de conflicto.
Concluy su discurso recordando que est en manos de cada peruano hacer del pas un lugar ms grande y mejor, siguiendo el lema histrico de la Fuerza Area del Per: "Arriba, siempre arriba".
Por su parte, el embajador ofreci unas palabras sobre el recuerdo del Capitn Jos Abelardo Quiones Gonzles, as como la importancia de la celebracin del da de la Fuerza Area Peruana.
El evento cont con la participacin de Agregados Militares de las Fuerzas Areas de los siguientes pases: Canad, Japn, Tnez.

Particip en la Guerra del 41 entre Per y Ecuador, donde mostr gran valenta y destreza.
Durante la Guerra del 41, Quiones particip en una misin de bombardeo contra posiciones ecuatorianas en Quebrada Seca, en la regin de Zarumilla. Su avin fue alcanzado por fuego antiareo. En lugar de saltar en paracadas y salvar su vida, Quiones decidi dirigir su avin en picada hacia una posicin enemiga, causando un gran impacto en las fuerzas ecuatorianas.
