On April 23rd, Spanish Language Day is celebrated throughout Canada. This celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on the cultural and linguistic richness that this language brings to the world.
The initiative was made possible by the petition e-4567 (Culture and heritage), which was presented by Ericka Aguilera from AURORA, ON. with the support of the MP Julie Dzerowicz in the Parliament of the Federal Government in Canada. The petition was presented with the support of over 1,495 individuals who endorsed this proposal.

El 23 de Abril en todo Canada se celebra el da del Idioma Espaol es una celebracin que nos brinda la oportunidad de reflexionar sobre la riqueza cultural y lingstica que aporta esta lengua al mundo.
La iniciativa
Gracias a la peticion e-4567 (Cultura y Herencia) que presento Ericka Aguilera desde AURORA, ON. con apoyo de la MP Julie Dzerowicz dentro del Parlamento del Gobierno Federal en Canad, se presento lla solicitud donde se lograron recaudar mas de 1,495 firmas de personas apoyando esta propuesta.
En Canad viven ms de 1.2 millones de personas cuya primera lengua es el espaol.
Con esta celebracin anual del Da de la Lengua Espaola se busca promover el multilingismo y reconocer la historia, la cultura, las tradiciones y la contribucin de las comunidades hispanohablantes en Canad.
El espaol es uno de los idiomas de ms rpido crecimiento en Canad.
